Housing Assistance for Veterans
Why 6 Percent, would like to thank all Veterans for their service and the daily protection they provide to all Americans.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, we would like to pass along some information about housing assistance programs and financial aid that are available to our Vet’s. These programs serve over 400,000 homeless veteran’s in the U.S.
Housing vouchers are available to Veteran’s through the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program and HUD. The program provides subsidies for housing, rent and utilities, making it a lifeline for thousand’s of servicemen and their families.
Another website for veteran’s needing assistance is the Department of Veterans Affairs. The programs offered here range the gambit from per diem assistance, health care, VA supported housing, to distribution of excess property such as hats, coats. shoes, sleeping bags and other necessity items.
Why 6 Percent would like to salute all the men and women who have served us so proudly through the years. Thank you for all you have done.

My father is a Vietnam Vet who is now in need for a power chair and ramp, etc. Is there any assistance without having to go to the VA hospital? I ask because he had regular medical ins through hi employer, but has been on disability and I just want to see if there are any programs that can help with the cost of the ancillary needs like the ramp and vehicle.
I also am a veteran struggling I served in Korea in the 1960’s and am about to loose all I have worked for. I am now disabeled and am fighting the Government for my ssdi for almost 2 years now. I can not afford to see a cardiologist and the V.A keeps billing me for my medical bills and meds . I just do not have the money for, I can not even afford groceries, I seek a food box when I can get them. I live in Cornelia Georgia where ther are no jobs . I need help to buy some food and pay for power which is about to be turned off at this moment. I served my country why can they not serve me at this time of need?
There is housing assistance available for vets through the Military Housing Assistance Program(MHAF). What they give is a gift and never has to be repaid. Call 720-932-8049 or go to http://www.usmhaf.org for more information on what this program can do to help you and others. http://www.usmhaf.org/promo this is the shortcut for the refinancing offer that they have.
